This Year Give Your Valentine Something Unexpected
a watch from Jord.
Valentine’s Day is a strange occurrence in my household. We are not the typical cards, candy and flower kind of people.
City Spouse bought me roses before. Which led to the lecture on if he wants to purchase flowers for me, the potted kind are favorable, and longer lasting. Buy me a rosebush and I’ll have roses for decades! Seems like the better value to my country booty.
So this year, with the help of Jord, I found something practical yet still says how much I care about City Spouse.
I had never heard of Jord before a few months ago, despite living in Missouri for a few years. (They are based in St. Louis. Go Cardinals!)
Once I came across their unique designs, I knew that this could be something truly unique to gift to City Spouse this Valentine’s Day. A wooden band watch? This just seems too good to be true.
I decided to get him the Dover series Ebony & Copper. He loves dark colors, and the face just seemed to be both futuristic but antique simultaneously. Talk about amazing design!
I know, I know… I’m female. My opinion on the watch doesn’t mean that the man is going to love the gift.
So let me share what a MAN had to say about the gift of his Jord watch.
I can’t compare my new Jord watch with many, having only owned a few over the years. So far, wearing it has been nice. Even with the iPhone in my pocket (which has been acting as my watch for years now) it’s nice to be able to glance down at the sleek design of the Jord watch to get the time.
It’s very comfortable to wear, and I love the clasp. Most watches I’ve seen only have a single opening side, but the clasp on the Jord hinges in both directions, making slipping it over my hand easier than the other watches I’ve owned. It’s wider opening, and still easy to fasten. I also like that the band is static, not stretchy. Those stretchy bands may be convenient, but they are infamous for pulling out hair as you twist or move your wrist.
The fact that you actually measure to fit your wrist is amazing. I’m sure that the accuracy of measurement has a lot to do with the comfort factor. (Sizing is available for an extra $10 but apparently it was worth it.)
As with most watches, this isn’t waterproof. Especially being wood, would you expect it to be? It’s splash proof so you can still wash your hands while wearing it. Taking it off when swimming or working out would still be your best bet to keep it looking awesome.
The Jord watch came with an amazing, sturdy wooden storage box, including a humidor. Care for the Jord watch requires oiling occasionally but seems a simple enough task with the included applicator and buffing cloth.
But Jord doesn’t only carry watches for men. You can purchase ladies wood watches too, and let me tell you there are some seriously cute ones available! Honestly, I’ve already shown City Spouse my favorites in hopes that he gets a hint or two for my present.
So make sure you go check out Jord now. There is still time to get your order in time for Valentine’s Day.
